Introduction to Representation Theory
We will cover the basic theory of the representation theory of finite
groups over the complex numbers. This theory is fundamental to many
problems in mathematics and physics were symmetry plays an important
role. From Galois theory to counting ways to color the faces of a cube
to the geometry of polyhedra representation theory helps understand
their symmetry through the action of a group. The only prerequisite for
these lectures are a solid base of linear algebra and group theory.
